We’re a full-service shop for heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks and trailers, handling everything from major repairs to annual inspections. Our services include:
We work on several big and medium-duty truck brands, including Kenworth, International, Peterbilt, Mack, Sterling, Dodge Sprinter, Western Star, Volvo, Isuzu, Fuso, Hino, and GMC.
We also repair semi-trailers like Fruehauf, Strick, Great Dane, Pine, Utility, Stoughton, Wabash, Trailmobile, Fontaine, Trail King, Wilson, and Dorsey, as well as RV motor coaches such as MCI, Prevost, Newmar, and Monaco, plus Onan Generators.
When a truck is properly operated and maintained, problems can be predicted or prevented, and repairs can be completed before failure. And without the disruption of unplanned downtime, you can stay on the job. At The Truck Shoppe, we can help you plan service in advance—at the best possible time—instead of the worst. You’ll determine when to take the truck out of service, and as a result, production won’t suffer.
Repairing and replacing key components at the right time, rather than when it becomes too late, allows you to capitalize on all the performance and life designed and built into your truck. You invested in a productive, durable machine; be sure to get what you paid for.
Diesel Particulate Filters, also known as DPFs, are exhaust after-treatment devices that significantly reduce emissions from diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. In addition to regeneration, the filter must be periodically cleaned to remove excessive noncombustible materials and ash. Cleaning of DPFs is typically required every 6 to 12 months.
Usually, an engine recalculates exhaust gas by piping it from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold. However, the system can get plugged-up, leading to restriction, which can cause several problems, such as incomplete regeneration and power loss.
By cleaning carbon and soot from the DPF, EGR system, injector dozer, delta p sensors, etc., you can save fuel and downtime. This is something most dealers and shops don’t acknowledge because their goal is to sell you parts. We are one of the few truck shops in Sacramento performing this service.
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is testing heavy-duty trucks and buses (gross vehicle rating over 6,000 pounds) for excessive smoke and tampering. Any heavy-duty vehicle operating in California, including vehicles registered in other states and foreign countries, may be tested.
If you operate a heavy-duty diesel-powered vehicle over 6,000 pounds GVWR or greater in fleets of two or more, your vehicle(s) must be tested annually with a smoke opacity meter according to the SAE J1667 specifications and test procedures.
Our technicians and equipment are CCDET certified.
It’s impossible to overstate the importance of routine maintenance. To keep a truck failure free, change fluids and filters on a regular schedule, using high-quality oil and filter products. Don’t forget to keep accurate maintenance records as well. An up-to-date maintenance history will help you spot recurring problems and take care of them before they cause failures. Make an appointment at The Truck Shoppe to set up a maintenance schedule based on your needs.
